Time for a Farce

A good hearty laugh is the world’s best medicine, and you’ll get your dose of it at Two River Theater‘s performance of Noises Off. On stage until February 3, the cast and crew make this show a memorable one. The laughs pour in just after intermission as the slapstick comedy goes into overdrive.

Noises Off is a true gem of a play written by Michael Frayn, and the idea to write it came in 1970 when he watched from the wings another play he wrote, The Two of Us. He said, “It was funnier from behind than in front, and I thought that one day I must write a farce from behind.” And so he did.

Redbank’s Two River Theater is a lovely venue to enjoy a performance. Before each one, the audience is invited to a pre-performance talk (10-15 min), which provides insight into the forthcoming play. A post-play discussion follows select performances. The audiences of the January 23rd at 7pm, 27th at 3pm and 30th at 1pm performances will be treated to a post-play discussion from the cast of Noises Off and a member of Two River’s artistic staff.

Coming soon to Two River Theater is A little Shakespeare: Macbeth, adapted and directed by Sara Holdren, running January 25-February 2. The theater is also hosting a clever DIY wine glass or coffee mug workshop. Make your own with your favorite quote or design of your choice. $15. Sounds like fun to us!

We encourage you to get your fill of the arts at Two River Theater. It’s good for the soul. Trust us!

Until next time, peace!
