This weekend the moon will be full and bright. Known as the Full “flower” moon of May, the moon will be at its closest point to Earth. It will rise at 11:35pm and will appear 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full moons of 2012 say scientists. This Supermoon will also
exert 42% more tidal force than usual, but this shouldn’t raise cause for concern of extreme flooding however. The weather looks to cooperate Saturday night so skywatchers should just sit back and enjoy.
